What programs do I offer?

Third Street Elementary School, Belvidere, NJ

by Joanne Boc:   Having had the opportunity to see Mr. Cobb’s performance at Belvidere’s Third Street School recently, I would describe his show as exciting, interesting, entertaining, captivating, inspiring and fun. These are words that came to mind while watching Mr. Cobb’s 60 minute performance for the school’s kindergarten through third graders.

What is the main idea of my educational assembly?

My presentations teach audiences about writing, illustrating and creative thinking. I use creative arts such as music, sing-a-longs, storytelling, interactive exercises, readers’ theatre and graphic images to create a visually stimulating and entertaining show. I use my books in this presentation to touch on points like the importance of conflict within a story, developing detail with words and to show the students how the illustrator develops the story -- from character development, story boards, thumbnails, rough pencils, right down to the finished illustrations. A Power Point projector is used to display all 196 images throughout the assembly.

Pirates are coming!  2009    Interactive book projects available as a workshop.

                                                                Personalized This Pirate Project

Personalization will be offered to schools only. The cover text will have your school  (e.g.), "Do Pirates Go To Spurce Run School" and on the inside the students will be able to add personal touches that will make this story special to them.  This will make for a great class project.

Your personalized project can then be published in a softcover for the students to enjoy.

See workshop for more details on this program.

"Teaching Through Creative Arts" is the best educational show around.

"I have seen many educational shows come into this school and I just had to tell you that I thought yours was simply outstanding."

Loretta Ziegler, Librarian at Lester D. Wilson School, Alexandria, NJ

As the creative director in charge of project development, Daryl guides each story through the creative process from beginning to end.

The children will get to experience the world of writing and publishing from a creative professional, who is actively working in the business.

Daryl Cobb is an author, musician and singer/songwriter from New Jersey who promotes literacy through creative arts. With more than 25 years of experience, Daryl's presentations teach audiences that creative thinking is a fundamental aspect of everybody’s life, whether you are an artist or a scientist. Daryl uses music, sing-a-longs, storytelling, interactive exercises and 164 graphic images to create a visually stimulating and entertaining presentation.

"Daryl,

Your presentation for our School House Reads event was wonderful! I loved your music and songs. It really kept the students attention. They were interested and captivated by your work. Parents and teachers also thought you were a hit! We hope to have you back next year for our Read Across America week.

Thank you very much!

[p.s.] Your displays were awesome! Books are phenomenal! Love them!"
